Volunteers
Preparations on Friday evening lasted from 7 pm till 10:30 pm mostly due to increased number of barriers which needed to be assembled. This was the first tournament where we had fully barriered courts and that required assembly of 84 barriers in addition to 20 that were already available in the gym. I would like to extend my gratitude to the following individuals who helped in this humongous task:
- Narayan Nagarathnam
- Sara Zhou
- Pierre Gabriell Falcis
- Srikar Garisa
- Madhu Bommala
- Justin Korte
- Ndidi Enuenwosu
- Meinhard Korte – setup of tables
- Adam Koziel – help with building the rack for storing Newgy barriers
- Tomasz Szacilowski – machining metal parts for the rack
The final tasks on the day of the tournament were completed swiftly thanks to John Brandt, Jim Brandt, Tim Szot & Don Erickson. These tasks included moving materials, equipment & trophies into the venue, setup of podium, installation of sun screens in windows, attaching table numbers and other miscellaneous tasks.
Special thanks go to the Fox Valley Park District employees who allowed us to make preparations the day before and assisted us in making it a success:
- Coleen
- Rachel
During tournament our operations ran smoothly thanks to our control desk crew:
- Cecila Navata – match results entry
- Zachary Moy – match results entry and umpiring
- Andrew Moy – umpiring and match results entry
- Jacek Wisniewski – referee
The cleanup after the tournament went quickly thanks to the following individuals:
- Evelyn Wisniewski
- Jacek Wisniewski
- Justin Korte
- Zachary Moy
- Andrew Moy
The cleanup took much faster thanks to the new storage rack which allowed us to quickly hang 52 barriers instead of disassembling them and packing into boxes. It started around 7 pm and ended at 8:50 pm.
Special thanks go to our sponsors – 1 on 1 Table Tennis for providing JOOLA balls and Newgy Inc. for arranging for additional 12 barriers.
